The Cleveland Library is not in the budget of Cleveland Township, Johnston County, or the State of North Carolina. If it it to exist, it must exist with the suport of the residents of the community, who treasure libraries and the value of reading. Help keep the library open and stocked with books for the community. Donations are tax deductible. The library was founded and is operated by Basic Needs Ministry dba Cleveland Library - Federal EIN 45-0503343, I.R.S. recognized 501(c)(3) Non-Profit/Public Charity and N.C. Charitable Solicitations License #SL003225

Basic Boards and Supplies

On-site bookmobile in needed to shelter and display 6-12,000 books. The following is needed to complete the unit for service:

  • waterproof floor
  • waterproof sheetrock by entrance
  • maintain exterior by spot priming and painting
  • install computer and checkout scanner

Bookcase toppers 1-2' high and 4' wide for additional books

Hard Cover, Trade, Paperback Books, DVDs, and CDs

The library is accepting hard cover, paperback, and paperback trade books. They will serve to build the collection and as a fundraising tool. Books are accepted in Unit D-96 on Mondays 1-9; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 9-5. A dry weather day is preferred to avoid damage to your donation.

  • DVD and VHS movies, music CDs, and Audio Books (must be operable, prefer original artwork and casing)
  • Ex-Library Copies (do not remove treatments)
  • Gently used Children's Books (especially Newberry Winners)
  • Hardcover Fiction and Nonfiction
  • Mass Market Paperbacks (must be in like new condition; target classics, non-fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, mystery, western, novels, copyright less than ten years old)
  • Monographs
  • Textbooks (copyright under 10 years)
  • Trade Paperbacks
  • Travel Books (copyright under 10 years)

  • Hard cover Encyclopedias More than 5 years old or Incomplete Sets
  • Cassettes

  • Periodicals or Magazines (i.e. National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, TV Guides)
